Studio West was built on a conviction: that the best homes aren’t the most expensive ones, or the most on-trend ones — they’re the ones that feel unmistakably like the people who live in them.
Kristin and Jen met as friends long before they became business partners. What started as obsessive conversations about spaces, materials, and the way a room can make you feel finally became something more. Studio West is what happens when two women with decades of hard-won professional instinct decide to trust their taste.
Kristin spent years in the corporate world developing the kind of precision and clarity that most creatives never acquire. She is also a collector — someone who has spent years developing a deeply considered aesthetic through art, and who understands instinctively how a single piece can set the tone for everything around it. She brings both to every project. For as long as she can remember, people have walked into her home and wanted to know exactly how she did it. She finally decided to make that the work.

Jen spent twenty years as a military spouse — which means twenty years of turning unfamiliar houses into homes, often quickly and always resourcefully. Along the way she built a successful corporate career, designed lighting for interiors, sourced rugs, and ran a boutique filled with furniture and objects she genuinely loved. All of it, in its own way, was design training. Studio West is where it finally has a name.

We design across the West — Colorado, the high desert, the coast, and beyond. Our aesthetic resists easy categorization: organic materials, traditional bones, and a layered western sensibility 2014 always on-trend, never forced.
Every project is handled personally by both of us. We don’t hand you off. We don’t disappear after the mood board. We stay in it until the last pillow is placed and the light is exactly right.
“Clients don’t hire us for a look. They hire us because they want to feel something when they walk through the door.”
